Reconstruction of Tilford Semi-Permanent Bridge and maintenance to
Tilford West Bridge
Applications are sought from suitably experienced contractors wishing
to be included on a select list of tenderers for the reconstruction
of Tilford Semi-Permanent Bridge and maintenance to Tilford West
Bridge. Tilford New Bridge (replacing Tilford Semi-Permanent Bridge)
consists of an integral three span concrete bridge with ironstone
facing and structural timber parapets. The overall length is
approximately 30m. The works will include piling. Tilford West Bridge
is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and all works will be subject to
inspection by English Heritage. The works consist of replacement of
oak timber parapets and repointing areas of stonework with lime
mortar. Both bridges take traffic over the River Wey south branch in
Tilford (approximately 6 miles south west of Farnham). The contract
will start in Spring 2004.
Applications should be accompanied by:
* Details of similar work undertaken in the last 5 years. Details of
any previous work to Scheduled Ancient Monuments/listed
buildings/historic structures are of particular interest.
* Details of organisational structure including qualifications of key
personnel.
* Names and addresses of at least two technical referees for recent
works of a similar nature and scale.
* Company Health and Safety policy. Contractors who have previously
been accepted on Surrey County Council's Standing List of Contractors
within the last 4 years need not submit further health and safety
details. Other contractors should request a copy of the appropriate
questionnaire from the address below  (Tel. 020 8541 7318) for return
with their application.
* A full up to date set of audited accounts for the last three years.

It is anticipated that tender documents will be issued by the end of
January 2004 and the contract awarded for commencement by the end of
February 2004.
