Tenders are due out shortly on south Wales'
£300m 'Valleywood' film studio project after the scheme was
finally given planning approval.
After a year's delay due to problems over
planning and land purchasing, developer Dragon International will
look to start building work at the disused opencast mine in
Llanilid next year.
The project will be rolled out in five
stages including a new large-scale studio with seven sound stages
and a theme park positioned alongside the adjacent M4.
It is expected that the scheme will create around 1,710 jobs and
aims to re-train former miners and steelworkers for hands-on work
in the film industry.
