Products group urges for bill to improve built environment

The Construction Products Association is lobbying MPs to support the Sustainable and Secure Buildings Bill - a Private Members Bill presented by Andrew Stunell MP.

Michael Ankers chief executive said: "This Bill presents an unmissable opportunity to extend the Building Regulations to cover sustainability and security.

"It will also improve the enforcement of existing regulations and introduce a requirement on the Government to report on its progress towards improving the sustainability and security of the building stock.

"The Construction Products Association believes the Bill would make a valuable contribution to its goals of sustainability and improving the quality of the built environment."
