Equion finally signs £35m East London Hospital deal

Equion, a division of John Laing plc, has today (Tuesday) announced the signing of a £35m redevelopment deal for Newham General Hospital in East London - four-and-a-half-years after the firm was named preferred bidder.

Under the terms of the deal, which was originally worth £25m, the infrastructure developer and operator will design and construct two major extensions for the hospital and provide facilities management services throughout the site.

The new buildings will provide modern premises for the Ambulatory Care and Diagnostics Unit, as well as new clinical facilities and a redesigned entrance building.

Equion will also redevelop the car park, landscape the east of the site and refurbish the kitchen and restaurant areas.
