Lovell wins housing projects worth £10.7m

Affordable housing provider Lovell has been awarded two major housing projects worth a total of £10.7m in the East Midlands.

In Nottingham, Lovell and the Riverside Group have been selected by Nottingham City Council for a £6.2m project to redevelop a site at Top Valley.

Currently occupied by 134 council-owned flats which are proving increasingly hard to let, the council has decided they should be demolished and replaced with new family homes. Further discussions on the mix of dwellings and layout will start this week with work on site expected to start in September 2004.

Lovell has also been chosen for a £4.5m housing regeneration scheme at Osmaston, Derby. The scheme will provide 50 houses for rent and shared ownership through Derwent Housing at the Glossop Road site previously occupied by housing, which was demolished in 2002.  Work on site is likely to start this autumn.

The projects have been secured by Lovell's newly-formed East Midlands business region.
