EU CONTRACT NOTICE
CONTRACT FOR THE REPAIRS TO LOW-RISE SYSTEM BUILT HOUSES AND
FLATS
Applications are invited from companies wishing
to undertake a contract for repairs to various
types of system built low rise steel or concrete
framed (social) Local Authority housing within
Bristol. The work will consist of concrete and
steelwork repairs, render repairs, external
insulation and other energy saving work. The work
will also entail alterations to gas flues and
extract fan outlets and may involve improvement
work in some cases such as window replacement and
loft insulation.
The contractor(s) will be required to enter into
recognised formal partnering arrangements such as
those set out in the Engineering and Construction
Contract (NEC) with option X12 and follow good
partnering practices in the execution of the
work, under guidance such as the "Partnering in
the Public Sector" toolkit published by the
European Construction Institute.
This is the first phase of two. This phase,
totalling an estimated £7 million, consists of:
1. structural repairs and external overcladding
to 97 Airey PRC Houses in 5 different areas of
the City.
2. Structural repairs to 87 Dorlonco steel framed houses in one
area.
3. Structural repairs and over cladding to 60
Unity PRC Houses and 26 Unity blocks of flats in
4 areas of the City.
Tenders can be for one or more lots or the whole
phase and contractors should state which part
they wish to tender for.
A second phase, consisting of further system
built property repairs of approximately the same
value as phase 1, may be added to the contract.
