Three vie for MoD Falklands deal

AWG is hoping to knock Interserve and Turner FM off their perches in a three-way contest for a £10m Ministry of Defence (MoD) deal.
The task is to provide infrastructure support for British forces in the Falkland Islands and Ascension Island.
Interserve is the present incumbent on the Falklands, while Glasgow-based Turner is currently working on Ascension Island.
The scope of work includes refurbishment, water treatment and sewerage tasks at the forces' bases, with most of the work centred at Mount Pleasant in the Falklands.
The present contract is due to run out next January, with the new one - a five-year deal with the option to extend by a further two years - kicking off in February 2005.
