Mowlem wins £17.3m Sheffield museum job
Mowlem is in the picture for a £17.3m deal from the Sheffield
Galleries and Museums Trust.
The firm's northern office has seen off four rivals to win the
contest to redevelop Sheffield's Weston Park Museum.
As the key part of a £17.3m overhaul of the museum, Mowlem
will manage alterations to the building's internal structure, the
reconstruction of the original 1960s extension, plus a new
roof.
The museum is due to reopen during autumn 2005.
The other contractors hoping to get in the frame were Allenbuild,
Laing O'Rourke, Willmott Dixon and Gleeson.
