Regional lure brings Neall back to Jackson

Richard Neall is back in the hot seat at Jackson Civil Engineering. He has again taken over the reins as managing director, a post he held 15 months ago prior to leaving for Norwest Holst.
"I came to the conclusion that I enjoy working as a regional contractor more than a national contractor," said Neall. He had parted on good terms with Peterhouse, the parent group that owns Ipswich-based Jackson, opening up the possibility of a return to his old job.
Such a move became a reality when Steve Cocliff, his successor at Jackson, moved to the post of managing director, power & civils within First Projects, a sister division within the Peterhouse Group.
Jackson Civil Engineering has an annual turnover of £65m. Most contracts lie in the £1m to £30m price range and coverage extends geographically as far as Cornwall and Leeds.
At Norwest Holst, Neall was managing director of civil engineering, heading up a business with a turnover of £90m a year.
