Bowey to build Newbiggin houses

Bowey Construction, based in Tyneside, has beaten three rivals to a £5m deal to build 64 houses at Newbiggin, Northumberland.
The scheme, for Grainger Homes, includes remediation works and is due for completion by March 2005. Also in the hunt were Dorin Construction, Whelan Construction and Gleeson.
n Bowey has also netted a £3.1m contract to convert a listed mill building in Newcastle upon Tyne into a specialist children's books centre. Also in the hunt were Kier and Gleeson.
