Hammersmith and Fulham tenders £230m worth of housing work

The London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham is to appoint contractors to carry out up to £230m worth of work on its housing stock.

The council is in the process of establishing an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) to carry out the work, which is designed to bring the council's 18,000 dwellings up to the Decent Homes Standard by March 2009. In addition there will be a £17m sheltered housing contract.

The council wants to set up four area-based, long-term strategic partnering contracts and one specific contract for the sheltered housing work.

The contracts are expected to be for a four-year period with an option to extend for a further to years. The contracts are due to kick off on 1 April 2005 and will end on 31 March 2009.

Firms have until 29 March 2004 to register their interest with the council.
