Lantra Awards launches new plant certificate
Lantra Awards, in conjunction with the Construction Industry
Training Board and the National Plant Operators Registration
Scheme, has launched the new Intermediate Certificate in
Specialised Plant and Machinery Operations.
The certificate consists of two compulsory units; an introduction
and a second unit chosen from a vast array of specialised plant or
equipment categories.
According to Lantra, operators will need the qualification to get
their red CPCS card, after which they can then progress on to an
NVQ/SVQ. Once this is complete operators then have access to a blue
CPCS card.
Hilary Bayliss, director of Lantra Awards, said: "This
qualification sets the standard for the training and testing of
plant operators and ensures anyone transferring from other
industries outside of construction are trained in site safety."
