CRMS, best known as the country's largest Case dealer, has become
the distributor for the Stavostroj range of soil and asphalt
compactors in the UK and Northern Ireland and will brand the
machines STA.
Initially, CRMS will start by importing eight tandem vibratory
rollers and two single drum rollers and is setting up a nationwide
dealer network to support the Czech Republic-built machines outside
its traditional southern England area.
The initial eight tandem rollers range in weight from 1.7t to 3.4t
with roller widths ranging from 900mm to 1.3m, and two of the units
(2.5t/1m and 3t/1.2m) are also available as combination rollers.
With the soil compactors, the first two units to become available
are in the most popular 11t and 15t weights.
Stavostroj said its tandem rollers are some of the quietest on the
market with good ergonomics and an isolated platform to prevent
vibrations getting through to the operator.
In addition, the units are said to have the biggest water tanks for
the sprinkler system, and on the larger models the suspended seat
can be moved from side to side as well as fore/aft.
Features on the single drum roller are said to include the biggest
static and centrifugal forces on an 11t machine and the use of
sealed roller bearings for both the articulation and oscillation.
The use of two-speed hydraulic hub motors allows the Cummins engine
to be mounted lower in the chassis, enhancing both stability and
visibility.
CRMS will have a range of STA equipment on its stand at SED at Fen
Farm, Milton Keynes.
