OFFSCA set to promote off-site building

A new offsite industry umbrella group, known as the Offsite Construction Alliance (OFFSCA), is to be launched at Interbuild next month.
The Alliance is the brainchild of a joint collaboration between Constructing Excellence, offsite consultancy MTech and the Construction Industry Research and Information Association.
OFFSCA aims to act as an umbrella organisation, bringing together trade bodies representing all elements of the offsite construction industry.
An OFFSCA spokesman told CJ: "The offsite construction industry is very fragmented. OFFSCA will aim to bring that industry together and represent it in order to work better with the government and private sector clients and to harness research and investment."
Issues that OFFSCA plans to address include an international benchmarking system for offsite construction, whole-life costing and the creation of a lexicon of offsite construction terms for use throughout the industry.
