Carillion has won a £12m per annum four-year highway maintenance contract from Warwickshire County Council.
The construction group will provide routine and cyclical maintenance, as well as reactive maintenance including winter services, emergency works and structural maintenance projects to the areas of Rugby, Warwick, Nuneaton & Bedworth, Stratford-upon-Avon and North Warwickshire.
The contract, which starts in early May, will initially be four years but could be extended to seven years, subject to meeting key performance targets.
John McDonough chief executive of Carillion said: "Transport is
one of Carillion's key growth sectors. As well as a leading
supplier of road infrastructure services to the Highways Agency,
road maintenance for local authorities is a growing and
strategically important market for us."
The contract follows success on a similar contract for Surrey
County Council in 2003.
