Housing Forum chairman Hugh Try will step down on 31 March, having come to the end of his agreed term - he will be succeeded by Steve Lidgate who is currently president of the House Builder's Federation.
During his two years with the Housing Forum, Try has successfully integrated the Housing Forum within Rethinking Construction and then within Constructing Excellence, while maintaining the Housing Forum's unique identity and a strong focus on the core activity of encouraging radical change in housing construction.
Under Lidgate, the Housing Forum will continue to promote the changes necessary in the industry to achieve the Government's targets for housing, while at the same time fostering a strong learning network in the regions.
Lidgate plans to "establish the Housing Forum as the Strategic Forum for innovation, best practice and productivity in housing construction with a focus on both new build and the regeneration of the existing housing stock."
