Double orders for HE Services
HE Services has signed a £14m mini-excavator order with
Takeuchi. Takeuchi president Akio Takeuchi and Hugh Edeleanu
(pictured right), founder of the hire company, signed the deal.
Over the next two years, Takeuchi will deliver 600 excavators to HE
Services - which claims to be Europe's largest excavator hire
company.
The order covers models from the 800kg micro digger (TB108) through
1.6t, 3t, 5t and 7.5t models to the newly introduced 8t wheeled
excavator, the TW175.
All the machines include extras such as heavy-duty bucket ram
guards, Masterhitch quick couplings, extra in-line fuel filtration
and undisclosed security items.
The order follows on from the three-year deal between the two
companies (due to expire in April) that saw HE take more than 200
Takeuchi excavators. Not all the machines will enter the hire fleet
as a significant number will be used in HE's Diggerland theme
parks.
Last year Takeuchi sold 1,600 units in the UK and claims market
leadership in the 3t, 5t and 7t to 8t weight classes. At Bauma the
company will show a new TB1140 (13.8t) and the TB23R Ultra-Swing
machine, which weighs in a 2.1t.
