Top two Irish piling firms merge

Two of Ireland's leading piling companies are merging to form a new company that will operate throughout Ireland.

FK Piling Limited and Lowry Piling (Ireland) Limited will now trade as FK Lowry (Piling) Limited.

The companies have traditionally traded independently as part of the Lagan Group, with FK Piling broadly serving the Northern Ireland market, while Lowry Piling mainly operated in the Republic of Ireland.

The merger, which follows a sustained period of growth in both companies, is seen as a key strategic move which will enable the new company to compete even more effectively throughout Ireland in a range of customer sectors.

"This merger now places Lagan's piling business as probably the leading resident piling specialist in Ireland," said Angus Carlisle, managing director of FK Lowry (Piling) Limited.

"Both companies are already recognised within the piling industry as leading players, offering quality products and professional, reliable service.

"The new company will blend the skills, resources, and expertise of both companies and enable us to build upon our existing excellent reputation by becoming even more responsive to customer needs and providing leading edge piling solutions through investment in people, processes, product development and technology," he said.

FK Lowry (Piling) Ltd will offer a design and construction capability in a range of piling disciplines including precast concrete driven piles, continuous flight auger piles, bored piled retaining walls, low headroom driven piles, driven steel bearing piles, sheet piling, symmetrix piles, and, more recently, bored displacement piling.

The company's product portfolio will be further augmented with the creation of a new concrete products division, which will manufacture pre-cast caps and beams to complement its core offering.
