CITB markets benefits of apprentice scheme

CITB-ConstructionSkills is highlighting the business benefits of
employing an apprentice in a lottery-themed marketing campaign
being sent out to contractors.
"We want to get the message across to employers that taking on an apprentice has more benefits than just the grant, that this is a bonus, and one that no other industries have. For employers, whose overriding reason for taking on an apprentice is the funding, we would suggest that they think further about the commitment that is necessary," CITB-ConstructionSkills' business area manager Paul Sykes said.
A grant of up to £8,400 is available for all construction employers that take on an apprentice through the CITB-ConstructionSkills Managing Agency and the construction modern apprenticeship
programme.
