RMC has launched a telephone ordering service to enable builders to order materials through builders merchants' and have them delivered direct to site.
RMC Direct is being introduced initially through the National Builders Group in central and southern areas and through Jewsons in the north east and M62 corridor.
The service will be operated through RMC's shared service
centre, where staff will answer any technical questions on the
product, quantities and specifications, as well as tracking and
implementing the order.
"Over the past decade the role of the merchant has grown three
fold. RMC Direct will help the merchant service his customer by
delivering the right products for the job to the right site at the
right time," said RMC Direct's key account manager, Chris
Webster.
RMC believe it will make buying basic building materials easier for everyone.
"For builders, it is the one stop shop. Through their chosen merchant they can buy competitively priced materials from one source, all delivered to their site. For the merchants, it takes the hassle factor out of placing and chasing orders and answering customer queries," said RMC.
