Trio win £85m Warrington housing job
Three outfits have the key to £85m worth of housing upgrade
work in Warrington.
From a list of nine finalists, Warrington Borough Council has now
gone for Bramall Construction and Connaught Property Services to
carry out a programme of capital improvement works, worth around
£65m over the next five years.
Bramall will tackle homes in the Bank House area, while Connaught
is assigned to the Westy and Festival areas.
Locked out of the deal are Lovell, Newton-le-Willows firm Whites
Building Services, and Rochdale-based Casey.
And the council's in-house team, Golden Gates Housing, has beaten
off three private-sector rivals to land a five-year £20.4m
responsive repairs deal.
Kier, AWG and Whites are the disappointed firms.
Under the terms of the deals, 10,000 homes will be revamped
borough-wide.
The scope of work includes kitchens, bathrooms, roofs,
central heating and electrical installations.
