Redcar asks firms to resubmit bids

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council has asked the two groups vying for its £54m PFI schools deal to resubmit their bids.
A source said Jarvis and a Mowlem/Robertson jv were originally asked to work up "innovative and variant bids as well as a standard submission, but the variant bids were
too diverse and not usable".
He continued: "The groups have now been asked to concentrate on their standard bids only so that we have a level playing field by which a true evaluation process can take place."
The project involves new build and refurbishment schemes for seven schools, with the council expected to name its preferred bidder in May.
