EDF, Jarvis and Webster bid in Lambeth lighting PFI

Three firms are understood to have plugged in to a £35m-plus PFI streetlighting deal in south London.
Jarvis, David Webster and EDF Energy (the new name for the recently merged London Electricity and Seeboard groups) are believed to be the trio gearing up to contest the London Borough of Lambeth's scheme.
During the first five years of the 25-year concession, about 8,600 lighting columns will be replaced and some 3,450 new columns installed.
Around 2,600 of the council's illuminated and non-illuminated traffic signs will be replaced during the first five years of the deal.
Work on the south London project is expected to begin during April 2005 .
