Four aim for prime contract
Four groups will pick up the tender paperwork in July for the last
of Defence Estates' five regional prime contracts.
The line-up for the £400m-plus deal includes two joint
ventures - Babcock Support Services/Dyncorp and
Carillion/Enterprise Managed Services.
Mowlem and Prime Serve UK (Balfour Beatty and Atkins) are the other
combatants.
The scheme involves capital works, facilities management and
property maintenance services at more than 40 Ministry of Defence
sites in 12 counties - Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Derbyshire,
Essex, Hertfordshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Norfolk,
Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Rutland
and Suffolk.
The contract will initially run for at least seven years, with an
option to extend it for up to 10.
