Southern Water Services is inviting contractors to apply for two
sets of framework deals worth millions of pounds over the AMP 4 and
potentially the AMP 5 investment periods.
The frameworks cover mid-value schemes and smaller civil
engineering schemes in Kent, Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of
Wight.
The Non-Infrastructure Framework Agreement covers the design and
construction of mid-value water and wastewater treatment works.
Contracts will typically be worth up to a maximum of
£15m.
Southern Water's draft business plan for AMP 4 proposes an
investment of between £300m and £800m over the five years
of AMP 4 (April 2005 to March 2010). A similar investment is
envisaged for the following AMP 5 period to March 2015.
The exact amount Southern Water will be allowed to spend will not
be known until the Regulator has approved the firm's business
plan.
The framework is planned to last for up to six years with an option
to extend it by a further two years.
The Infrastructure Frame-work Agreement covers the design and
construction of smaller civil engineering schemes with minor MEICA
works, typically comprising water and wastewater pipelines and
pumping stations.
Southern Water's business plan proposes an investment of £100m
to £350m for AMP 4 and again, a similar investment for AMP 5.
Again, the framework deals will be for six years with an option to
extend by a further two years.
Firms have until 11 May to register interest in both sets of
frameworks.
