Wembley stadium march held to remember dead worker

Construction workers at the new Wembley Stadium are marching today (Wednesday) to urge government to make building sites safer.

The protest is timed to coincide with Workers Memorial Day, a global event held every year on 28 April.

However, the march is also seen as a tribute to Patrick O'Sullivan, who died on the Multiplex project on 15 January after he was hit by falling scaffolding.

The Heath and Safety Executive continues to investigate the death on the north west London site.

About 70 workers die every year on building site accidents in the UK.
