The TGWU is refocusing all its time, effort and resources on ensuring that all employees in TGWU-organised workplaces are signed up to the union.
The 100% campaign, as it has been dubbed, could result in the recruitment of thousands of new members.
General secretary Tony Woodley said: "The idea behind the 100% campaign is to ensure that every employee in a TGWU-organised workplace is a member of the union. In too many workplaces I have visited that is not the case. The result, too often, is a weak union, unable to protect our members - let alone win advances.
"The answer must be stronger organisation - with all workers part of it. That is not about building a bigger TGWU for the sake of it, but about giving all our members the muscle to win in the workplace."
