Man killed after scaffolding fall

A man died yesterday (Thursday) after falling from scaffolding on a site in Manchester.

Christopher Heaton, 26 from St Helens, was working on a development of 400 apartments in Spinningfields on Thursday when the incident happened.

Another man in his thirties is still being treated at Manchester Royal Infirmary hospital for serious head injuries after falling at the same time.

All work on the Westcott Homes site has been suspended while the Health and Safety Executive carries out an investigation.
