ENVIRONMENT
Expressions of interest are invited from experienced contractors
for
the following works.
The modification and/or the renewal of balustrades and handrails in
County Hall, Durham in order to achieved compliance with the
current
building regulations. The proposed project is to cover two sets of
stairs one over
eight floors and the other over seven floors.
The contractor must be capable of manufacturing and installing a
timber handrail with the required stair to landing joint. The
handrail and landing joint must match the existing in regards to
profile, colour and quality as far as possible.
The contractor will also be expected to proved metal balustrades
for
the handrail with infill panels to match the existing as far as
possible.
This is a complex project requiring a finish in keeping with the
existing aesthetics and which will compliment the existing
structure.
Interested parties will be required to provide an input of ideas to
assist in the design process.
Prospective Tenderers should submit with their application:-
1) Full details of persons from whom references could be
obtained
2) Current Company Health and Safety Policy
3) Their last 3 years company accounts
4) Details of similar work undertaken
The closing date for expressions of interest is Monday 10 May
2004.
