Birtley-based Komatsu UK has announced a record 399 machines sold during March, an increase of 26% on last year's best performance.
The sales resulted in the company's best ever monthly turnover of £26.5m, and follows the launch of a number of new machines this year.
The UK accounted for 18% of sales, with the recently launched PC160 and PW160 proving to be the most popular machines.
Komatsu UK now boasts a portfolio of 18 tracked and wheeled excavators ranging in size from 13t to 75t and recently produced its 35,000th unit.
"This is an excellent achievement and completely reflects the
effort and commitment shown by our workforce," Komatsu UK managing
director, Peter Howe said.
