The Costain Group has continued its 36-year relationship with Tesco after being awarded contracts worth more than £27m.
Tesco is building a new 'concept' store at Waltham Abbey and new primary health care centre. The £11.2m contract will see construction of the new Tesco and include associated car parks, retaining walls, off-site highway works and a petrol filling station.
In Islington, Costain is responsible for demolition of an existing Tesco petrol filling station and construction of reinforced concrete frame for new store and 13 luxury apartments. The contract is worth £6m.
In addition, Costain is increasing the sales area of the Romford Tesco store (£5m) and providing a major refit and extension to the Colchester store (£5.2m).
Costain Group's relationship with Tesco has involved
construction work on 106 Tesco stores over the past 36 years.
