Clancy Docwra wins £40m Southern Water Contract

Clancy Docwra has signed a £40m contract for clean and waste water utilities services with Southern Water - The Utility Services Contract (USC).

The clean water area will consist of Kent, Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, with the wastewater element of the contract covering the Isle of Wight.

Types of works involved within the contract include: repairs and maintenance, service/main laying, reinstatement and 24/7 emergency response.

This contract represents a new way of working for Southern Water and Clancy Docwra.  Previously, Southern Water had planned and scheduled the work with some elements implemented with their own direct labour force.

This skilled and experienced operational group of people will now, under the Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment Regulations 1981 (TUPE), become a part of Clancy Docwra's operational team.

The three-year contract, with a two-year option, is due to start on 1 June.
