Eleven bid for £132m PFI hospitals
Eleven bidders have thrown their hats into the ring for the
£132m Three Shires batched hospitals PFI scheme.
The eleven are: Alfred McAlpine; Amey Ferrovial; AWG; Balfour
Beatty; Carillion; Costain; Equion; Grosvenor House; Kier; Sir
Robert McAlpine; and Vinci.
The batch is led by the Derbyshire Mental Health Services Trust,
along with Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust and East
Lincolnshire Primary Care Trust.
The Trusts will appoint a framework partner to undertake all three
hospital projects. The lead project will be the Derby scheme.
Bidders will be expected to put in a lump sum price based on Derby,
as well as unit pricing that can be applied to the designs for the
other two schemes.
A shortlist of either three or four bidders will be chosen by the
end of June, with a preferred bidder picked by the end of the year.
