Dean & Bowes wins £2.9m refurbishment contract

Demolition contractor Dean & Bowes has secured a £2.9m refurbishment project for Primark in Ipswich.

The project comprises the refurbishment of an existing Primark Store and the construction of a three-storey extension to the rear of the building.

Dean & Bowes will demolish the existing staircases and lift shaft to rationalise sales space and then form a new steel staircase and install a new lift.

The three-storey extension is a steel frame construction with precast concrete floors and roof, the walls are a masonry construction running the full height of the building.

The project starts early June and is due for completion end of November 2004.
