RMC UK's cement division is preparing to take its logistics back in-house after a three-year deal with TNT. The deal wil end on 30 November.
The division will take over the operational management of the 190-strong fleet, while 380 staff will transfer from TNT to RMC under TUPE rules.
Cement division supply chain director Clive Oakley said: "We now believe the time is right to return to in-house management of this core activity. We would like to express ou thanks to TNT, which has helped us to completely re-engineer our supply chain, enabling us to deliver substantial improvements in control and service performance during the past four years."
The logistics arm delivers four and a half million tonnes of cement to more than 1,000 delivery points every year. Last year it achieved a cost reduction of more than £3.5m.
