EASHW publishes fact sheet covering small site safety
The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EASHW) has
issued a fact sheet on improving safety on small construction
sites, as part of its campaign this year to improve standards in
the building industry.
The document advises on preparations that should be carried out by
a contractor prior to a project commencing, as well as noting key
hazards and risks, advising about onsite management and worker
consultation.
EASHW's fact sheet also includes a long checklist of preventative
steps that can be taken to reduce accidents, for instance asking
whether assessments have been made to reduce the risk of
work-related upper limb disorders in concrete casting, reinforcing,
welding or painting.
