North Midland seeks to reach £100m turnover
North Midland Construction has enjoyed a promising start to the
year.
First quarter results show turnover unchanged at £20m, while
pre-tax profit was 10% higher than the £600,000 figure in the
same period last year.
Chief executive Robert Moyle said NMC is looking to increase annual
turnover to £100m, an increase of 25%, and after taking on
more than 100 staff in the past 12 months, Moyle is looking for
more.
"Good people are hard to come by," he said.
"We have more initiatives running in both universities and schools
to counter what is an industry-wide skills shortage, while on site,
we are struggling to get all the key skills - but especially
bricklayers and
electricians."
NMC has three divisions, civils, special projects and utilities,
along with two main subsidiaries, North Midland Building
and Nomenca.
