White Young Green (WYG), the consultancy currently blazing a trail of bolt-on acquisitions, has been at it again. It announced this morning (Wednesday) that it had paid £800,000 for DWP Consulting, its fourth strategic acquisition of the year.
DWP Consulting is a privately-owned M&E consultancy business with offices in Leicester and Birmingham. Its core areas of expertise include data systems, design, strategic planning, project management and investigations.
Latest financial results (12 months to 31 January 2004) for DWP show a profit of £160,000 on a turnover of £1.8m. All the group's directors have signed up to work for the new owner.
John Purvis, chief executive of WYG, said: "DWP Consulting is one of the largest independent building services consultants in the East Midlands."
An average growth of 22% a year since 1997 has taken WYG to a
fee turnover of £88m a year. It has 1,500 staff in 20 offices
throughout the UK and Ireland. Over the last six years it has made
a total of 20 acquisitions.
