Alfred McAlpine joins Institute of Customer Service

Alfred McAlpine has become a founder council member of the Institute of Customer Service (ISC). It joins such high street and consumer brands as Nationwide, Barclays Bank, British Airways, Powergen and the RAC.

The ISC has been established for seven years and promotes customer service professionalism. It supports government accreditation and training initiatives and has its own professional qualifications.

According to McAlpine, its membership of ICS gives the group the opportunity to challenge industry perceptions of service and to improve service levels.

Alfred McAlpine Business Services managing director Billy Allan said: "In today's highly competitive markets, excellent customer service is the difference between winning and losing business. That's as true in the sevice sector of the built environment as it is at the counter of a high street bank or a check-in desk at Heathrow. Membership of ICS will put clear water between ourselves and our competitors."
