MMP moves into offsite market

M&M Plasline (MMP) has launched itself into the offsite construction market.

Bishop Auckland-based MMP is expanding its factory to manufacture buildings for the commercial and housing markets. The factory will grow to 1,700m2 and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

The extra space will allow MMP to construct the light steel frame buildings in factory conditions, quality-test them, and then transport them to site.

MMP chairman Michael O'Connell said the group is one of only a few companies in the North East with offsite construction capabilities.

The expansion should create 50 new jobs.
