Lewisham town centre's £250m transformation - which will bring new homes, shops, a new town square and an improved transport interchange - came a major step closer today (Friday) with the announcement of a preferred developer.
A partnership of the London Development Agency, Lewisham Council and Transport for London has selected a joint venture of AMEC Developments and Taylor Woodrow Developments, called Lewisham Gateway Developments (LGD), to develop a comprehensive mixed-use scheme.
This will include retail, commercial and residential, as well as
an enhanced public transport
interchange and improved highway layout.
