Merseyside Passenger Transport Executive
(Merseytravel) invite expressions of interest
from suitably qualified and experienced ground
investigation contractors with a proven track
record for the undertaking of large ground
investigation contracts (>£100k) to tender for
the preliminary ground investigation for
Merseytram Line 2. The ground investigation will
comprise geotechnical and geoenvironmental
investigations together with six months of ground
water/gas monitoring, sampling and testing along
the proposed route of Line 2 of the Merseytram
system (approximately 19km) in Liverpool and

Knowsley.
Factual reports for the ground investigation and
monitoring will be required at dates stipulated
in the contract. The conditions of contract will
be the ICE Conditions of Contract for Ground
Investigation.
To register your interest, the following information should be submitted:
(a) Full registered company name, address and
registration number, or the firm's full trading
address.
(b) Details of any proposed sub-consultants and testing laboratories.
(c) Descriptive examples of relevant
recently-completed ground investigation studies.
(d) The names and addresses of three technical referees who may be contacted.
(e) Financial reports for the company for the last three years.
(f) The name and address of the company's bankers.
(g) Details of PI insurance, Employer's Liability
and Third Party insurance, value of cover and
proof that such cover is held.
To be considered for short listing, companies
will need to demonstrate an effective track
record of ground investigation work.
