Five in line for Bucks bypass deal
Five rivals are in the queue for a £30m to £35m local authority roads deal in Buckinghamshire.
The line-up for the county council's A4146 Stoke Hammond and Linslade Western bypass is Balfour Beatty, Birse, Costain, Morgan Est and Alfred McAlpine.
The client is expected to send out the tender paperwork for the design and construct scheme in late July or early August.
Work on site is due to begin early next year, with the construction period set at two years.
The project, in an environmentally-sensitive area containing a number of protected species, features an 8km dual carriageway bypass.
The winning contractor will have to take over and complete measures to protect badgers, bats and great crested newts.
