Highways Agency advertises £131.8m early contractor involvement scheme in Kent

The Highways Agency is inviting civils firms to pitch for its latest early contractor involvement project in the shape of the £131.8m A2/A282 Dartford improvement and M25 junctions 1b to 3 widening scheme in Kent.

The £75.5m A2/A282 project comprises the construction of free flowing link roads, which will require seven new bridges and the widening of the A2 from three to four lanes.

The £56.4m M25 project involves widening the motorway between junctions 2 and 3 from three to four lanes in each direction and widening the southbound carriageway from two to three lanes through junction 2.

Design and statutory process work is likely to start in May 2005 with the aim of completing the construction phase by the end of April 2008.

Firms have until 2 September to register their interest in the scheme.
