Caterpillar has launched a new 20t crawler excavator designated the 319C. The machine replaces the 318C N with which it shares many common elements, including the engine and hydraulic components.
The 319C is equipped with a 2.49m-wide undercarriage which meets all European transport regulations and is powered by a Cat 3066T six cylinder diesel engine.
According to Caterpillar, the new excavator has been equipped with the upper frame of the 318C coupled with the 4.45m-long undercarriage used on the larger 320C machine. The company said this configuration offers customers improved lifting capacities.
The new machine is available with either a one-piece boom or a variable-adjustable boom. With either boom, the 319C is said to outperform its predecessor by 23% frontally and by 4.5% over-the-side.
