Internal Refurbishment and Adaptations of Town Hall, Ipswich
Ipswich Borough Council is seeking expressions of
interest from suitably qualified and
experienced contractors who wish to be included
on a Select List of Tenderers for the
above project. The contract will involve the
internal refurbishment and adaptations of
the Town Hall, a grade II listed building. The
value of the contract is estimated at
approximately £1,800,000 to £2,250,000 let using the JCT form of contract.
It is anticipated that a shortlist of contractors
will be invited to tender for the works
during Autumn 2004. Applicants must demonstrate
their skills to undertake the above
works in their expression of interest, which must
include details of similar sized
contracts undertaken recently. In addition,
contractors applying must provide the
following information with their submissions:
*The names and addresses of three technical referees who are able to provide a
reference of the applicant's competence in
relation to this type of work. Details
of particular contracts undertaken by the applicant should form a part of
these references.
*A copy of the Company's latest audited accounts, which should not be more
than 18 months old.
*The name and address of the Company's bankers
*Confirmation that the Company is ensured for Public Liability of at least
£5,000,000.
*A copy of the Company's Construction Industry Tax Deduction Certificate.
*Evidence of having acted in the role of Principal Contractor
under the 1994 CDM Regulations on similar schemes.
Selection for inclusion on the select list will include interviews of
interested contractors conducted by the design team.
