Written applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced
contractors wishing to be considered for inclusion on the select List of
Tenderers for the following project:
CHELSON MEADOW LANDFILL SITE:
SOUTHERN SECTOR RESTORATION - PHASE 3
Chelson Meadow is an active waste disposal site, accepting municipal
and commercial wastes. The landfill site is adjacent to the east bank of
the River Plym, east of the city of Plymouth and south of the A38 trunk
road. The National Grid reference for the centre of the site is
approximately SX 512 545.
The works included under this contract comprise the restoration and
soft landscaping of approximately 4 ha of the sites operational

Southern Sector landfill area and will entail the supply and deposition
of various earthworks materials and associated specialist membranes.
Contractors will need to be familiar with the NEC Conditions of
Contract, have experience of partnering and collaborative working and
be able to innovative solutions.
The contract will be awarded to the Contractor whose tender
submission is considered by the City Council to be the most
economically advantageous.
The issue of tender documents is programmed for October 2004, with
provisional site possession being available in November 2004.
Applicants must have the necessary resource and expertise to act as
Principle Contractor in compliance with the Construction (Design and
Management) Regulations, 1994.
