Roger Bayliss to lead BAA expansion plans
BAA has appointed Roger Bayliss group construction director to lead
the airport company's construction activities across its seven UK
airports, excluding T5.
Bayliss will arrive in early November from the MTR Corporation in
Hong Kong, where he has worked for the past 12 years on mass
transit rail projects, a tourism-related cable car project and the
corporation's expansion into China.
Bayliss, who brings 26 years' experience of construction to his new
role, also worked for Costain Civil Engineering in the UK.
Bayliss said: "The company is investing more than £8bn over
the next decade on its UK airport infrastructure to enable the
business to expand while providing a continually improving
experience for passengers and airline customers. The investment
programme includes more than £4bn of investment in non-T5
infrastructure and will present me with an exciting, challenging
opportunity."
