The Highways Agency is expected to release tender documents for its
£100m to £120m early contractor involvement contract to
improve junction 19 of the M1 within the next few days. The HA has
received 10 expressions of interest for the scheme so far.
As CJ went to press, the agency was debating whether to allow one bidder to bid for a series of junction improvements across the M1 or to let schemes individually.
HA procurement director Steve Rowsell said: "This is still an issue to be resolved in the next few days. If we do limit ourselves to one firm to do the whole work we need to be sure there is good long-term sustainability."
