Optima seals £20m housing contract
Offsite construction firm Optima Homes has won a £20m contract
to supply a housing association with 1,000 homes.
The company will finalise a deal next month to supply social
housing firm Home Group for the next three years.
Optima is a joint venture between Pace Timber Systems and architect
Cartwright Pickard. The company is to double its floorspace to
7,000m2 with a new manufacturing site in Milton Keynes.
Pace managing director Phil Key said Home Group's contractors will
be instructed to use the firm's panel systems in certain
houses.
He added that the firm was also involved in a four-flat trial for
Jarvis Contracting.
The company makes a closed wall panel system, which is delivered to
site with pre-installed drylining, insulation, conduits, doors and
windows.
Key said: "We have used standard materials onsite and brought them
into the factory."
He said the firm can erect a three-bedroom house in one day.
